Whose story do you need to know?

Our pasts: I've been so hung up on the history of families. Why are we the way we are?  I've come to realize we only need to know one history — His story.

There's a passage in Scripture, in Galatians 2:20, which says, I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”

When we get to the end of ourselves, which is found at the foot of the cross of Jesus the Christ, we surrender ourselves, all of ourselves, our past, our present, and our future. That is when our life ends.

Believing in Jesus, the Christ, in what He did on the cross, this is when our eternal life begins. A life lived in Him, where He covers us. We are no longer our own. Our past is just that, past. Jesus Christ, the son of God and the son of man, we become a part of him.

At belief, The Holy Spirit, Who is Lord, enters us. He indwells us, empowers us, teaches us, guides us, corrects us, and comforts us. At this point we are Holy.

I envision myself running a race but looking backwards. I was getting so hung up on the history that I forgot to look forward and run the race. No wonder I haven't progressed.

Fix my eyes on Jesus. That’s what I am to do.

I throw off everything that hinders. I look forward—to the race set before me. I follow Jesus. He did say, “Follow me.”

Each has to run their own, God-designed race. Go to Him to find out what yours is. Each one is necessary for the body of Christ to function effectively.

Revelation 12:11 says, “And they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, for they loved not their lives even unto death.”

Let us declare His story.
